In order to systematically record the valuable knowledge of contemporary witnesses about the consequences of natural disasters and implicit protective measures and to make it available to the affected regions for preventive risk management, an international research group involving five universities from Europe and Latin America has launched the project “Citadine – Citizen Science and Nature-based-solutions for improved disaster preparedness”. The Jade University of Applied Sciences is leading the project. Prof. Dr. Michael Klafft, an expert for risk and crisis communication based on information technology, is the project coordinator.
